After the Olympic-sized disappointment of London 2012 ticket allocations, thousands of fans are expected to rush to the streets of London and Surrey to view the road cycling events. There will be many good vantage points to the watch the racing for free so BlueYellow Media has stepped in to provide a free app that serves as a guide to the race route. The app includes maps, photos and information on local visitor attractions.
The London-Surrey Cycle Classic on Sunday 14th August 2011 aims to test the exact route to be used in 2012. The race will start at The Mall in central London at 9am, with riders setting off for a gruelling 140km race around the streets, lanes and hills of this challenging course. Fans can use the app to track exactly where the course runs allowing them to find the perfect spot to see the competitors fly by.
With the racing complete, the app's searchable map contains many points of interest along the course. Tap on a map marker and you'll find detailed information about that location including a link to Wikipedia to explore further, and perhaps pay a visit to round off a perfect day.
